If you are looking for beautiful durable and glamorous cladding timber for your garden room then why not consider our Ayous Thermo Cladding. Ayous is a tropical hardwood tree native to the forests of Central and West Africa with the trees typically growing to around 50m in height. 

 

Our cladding is produced from premium quality, sustainable Ayous which has been thermally modified to improve its properties. Ayous’ modification process consists of drying, heating and cooling the timber in a controlled atmosphere. This produces chemical changes to the cell structure of the Ayous that not only alters its appearance, but increases its durability which means it performs similarly to cedar when used outdoors.

 

The Ayous cladding boards are clear, straight grained, quarter sawn, very uniform and virtually knot free. This timber has a botanical name of Triplochiton scleroxylon, (Ayous).

 

Ayous Thermo Cladding is seen as an alternative to slow-growing tropical hardwoods like teak and mahogany. It stands up well to UV, water, decay, insect and fungal damage, mimicking the performance of popular tropical hardwood species.
